SEE what Mark Rober Says about FIRST

FIRST
Friendly competition is at the heart of FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge, as teams of students engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering building and programming a LEGO® robot that navigates the missions of the robot game. Teams also participate in an innovation project to identify and solve a relevant real world problem.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge is one of three divisions by age group of the FIRST LEGO League program. This program inspires young people to experiment and grow their confidence, critical thinking, and design skills through hands-on STEM learning. FIRST LEGO League was created through an alliance between FIRST® and LEGO® Education.

FIRST Core Values
We express the FIRST® philosophies of Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition through our Core Values:
  • Discovery: We explore new skills and ideas.
  • Innovation: We use creativity and persistence to solve problems.
  • Impact:  We apply what we learn to improve our world.
  • Inclusion: We respect each other and embrace our differences.
  • Teamwork: We are stronger when we work together.
  • Fun: We enjoy and celebrate what we do!

FIRST LEGO League Challenge camp is geared towards students in Grades 2nd-7th. This camp exposes campers to robotics with block-based coding software, building robots, mechanics and problem solving. It will help them better understand science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, (STEM) concepts. Campers will experience project-based learning, hands-on activities, leadership skills, communication, and teamwork.

This summer camp involves:
  • coding lessons,
  • solving missions,
  • team experiences,
  • building robots
  • and fun!
All proceeds from the camp will directly support the FTC team Technical Toast. We're thrilled to engage with students just below our team level and collaborate with them in a camp where they'll use Legos to create missions for their Spike Prime Robot. They'll program the robot to complete these missions themselves.

Throughout the 5-day camp, students will develop valuable teamwork skills as they dive into building, strategizing, and coding with blocks. No prior robotics experience is required for camp attendees.
