Introduction
So I thought the easiest way to learn how to sing is to break it into different lessons. I’m still making some of the lessons but I figured that I could start y'all off with something. Lesson One Your voice is a instrument, you can to learn how to use it. Like the piano your voice can sing notes that can correspond with the white and black keys. You can use this information to figure out how high and how low you can sing. This is called your vocal range. Learning this makes it easier to sing without strain. Later we can talk about what keys are as well as intervals, scales, and other musical stuff but in this lesson we’ll figure out your range and voice type. Here’s a video I thought would be helpful. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zwiyJHgovDk Your vocal range is able to determine your lower (chest voice), higher (head voice), and mixed voice (the in between). The mixed voice is where it’s going to sound the best, feel the best (no strain), and has the most power. Something I would love you to practice is to learn how to use all of these parts of your vocal range. One way you can do this is picking a song to practice that has a lower verse and a louder higher chorus. Also one tip that I love to do is to sing for ~20 minutes every day. This isn’t a strict rule but playing your favorite songs and listening/singing to them can help if you’re looking for something to practice. |
